Bob Bohan earned his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Denver.  He subsequently completed a Masters of Law at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

He started his legal career in private law practice in Denver. After moving to Washington, D.C., he served as an Associate Minority Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Labor and Public Welfare and as Minority Counsel to the U.S. Senate Budget Committee. After leaving the U.S. Senate, he served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the National Soft Drink Association in Washington from 1979 to 1992.

In 1993, he opened his own office in Annapolis, concentrating his practice in the areas of estate planning, elder law, and family business counseling. His professional memberships include the American, Maryland, District of Columbia, and Anne Arundel County Bar Associations. He is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Academy of Special Needs Planning Attorneys, and Wealth Counsel.

Since opening his office, Bob has also served as an instructor at Anne Arundel Community College in American Government and Business Law and teaches a Continuing Education course for the Anne Arundel County Board of Realtors, focusing on legal issues for realtors in working with the elderly.

Bob and his wife, Barbara, have resided in Annapolis since 1977. Their personal interests range from scuba diving to travel. Most recently they spent two weeks in France, primarily in Provence.
