My name is Brandon C. Walecka and I am an associate attorney at Surprenant & Beneski, P.C. I focus my practice, as does our firm, in the areas of elder law, estate planning and special needs planning. I am a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (MassNAELA) and I was appointed to the Publications Committee in mid-2012. I am also Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors of the Bristol County Estate Planning Counsel. I am on the Board of Directors of the Caregiver Resource Collaborative. Also, formerly the Co-Chair of the Human Rights Committee at Crystal Springs, Inc of Assonet, MA. I am also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Bristol County Bar Association.
I earned my Juris Doctor from the University of Massachusetts School of Law – Dartmouth, where I served as Student Bar Association President and received recognition including the UMass School of Law Pro Bono Student Award, the Bristol County Bar Association Scholarship and the Thurgood Marshall Social Justice Award. As a law student, I focused my education in the field of Elder Law and actively sought out ways to help the elderly in my community, including volunteering as an Ombudsman for the Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
At Surprenant & Beneski, P.C., I enjoy helping seniors, and clients of all ages, protect their hard-earned assets and make important decisions regarding their estate and their loved ones. In May of 2013, I completed the Master of Laws (LL.M.) Elder Law program through the Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. Through these experiences, my commitment to serving the community continues to grow stronger – It is the type of deep commitment that the attorneys and staff at Surprenant & Beneski, P.C. demonstrate every day.
